US employment of aerospace engineers is projected to grow 6 percent from 2023 to 2033, about as fast as the average for all occupations, signaling the segment is stable.₁
Eden Prairie-based aerospace firm ION Corp., which has designed and built components for the James Webb space telescope, the Mars rover and the Mars manned rockets, is investing $12M in a new 112,800-sq-ft manufacturing and research space in North Minneapolis.₂
UMN's Aerospace Engineering & Mechanics (AEM) Department is one of the first 10 accredited aeronautical engineering programs in the country with its bachelors program currently rated 4th in the nation by the Princeton Review's Gourman Report on Undergraduate Programs, producing local graduates for the Minnesota engineering community.₃
